Doing Everything for God's Glory With Your Whole Heart

Hey friends, welcome to Carpooling with Jesus. I'm Pastor Justin. Maybe you're in the car or sitting around the table, or you just got home from school. I am so glad you're here. Today we're talking about doing everything for God's glory. That means whether you're working, playing, or helping, you do it with your whole heart, just like you're doing it for God. Our verse today is from the book of Colossians, chapter 3, verses 23 and 24. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. The Apostle Paul wrote this to remind us that our work isn't just for ourselves. The book of Colossians is in the New Testament, and the Apostle Paul wrote it to an early church in Colossae. He wrote to remind them, and us, that our work isn't just for ourselves or others. It's for God. When we give our best effort, we honor God with that. If Jesus were here, he'd say, I see you. Whether you're studying hard, practicing out on the field, cleaning up at home, or just being kind to others, do it for me. I love seeing you give your best. This reminds me of a story. Robin had a big math test. She wasn't excited, but her mom reminded her to do her best for God. She prayed before the test, knew that she worked hard leading up to it, and when she got her grade, which was an A, she felt so proud. Not just for her grade, but because she honored God with her effort from beginning to end. So today, whatever you do, do it for Jesus. It doesn't matter if you're studying at home, out on a BMX track, hitting the soccer field, or working on Legos in your room. Make sure you do it for Jesus.
