Jesus Asked, Who Touched Me? How Faith Stands Out

Hey, carpool crew. It's Pastor Justin, and I'm so glad you're here today. Today's question might sound simple, but it's packed with power and one of the most amazing moments in the Bible. Picture this. Jesus is walking through a huge crowd. I'm talking wall to wall people, like a parade or a packed stadium or the school cafeteria on pizza day. Everyone wanted to be near Jesus. People were reaching out, yelling, bumping into him from every side. The disciples were doing everything they could to keep order, but it was chaos. It was loud, crazy, and crowded. But suddenly Jesus stopped, and he asked something surprising to the disciples: who touched me? That's from Luke chapter eight, verse 45. The disciples were confused. Jesus, everyone's touching you. That's kind of what happens in a crowd. But this wasn't any touch. Jesus said, someone did touch me, for I know that power has gone out from me. That's from Luke chapter eight, verse 46. Whoa. He felt power leave him. See, in that crowd, there was a woman, a woman who had been very, very sick for 12 years. She had tried everything and nothing worked. No doctors could help her. She was tired, hurting, and desperate. But she had faith in Jesus. She thought, if I could just touch his robe, I will be healed. And she did. And Jesus felt her faith. In all that noise, Jesus noticed her. Not the crowd, not the noise, not the important people who were there. Jesus noticed her. Here's the one thing I want you to remember. Jesus sees you and cares about your faith. She didn't yell. She didn't push. She didn't even speak, but she believed, and Jesus responded. I wanna tell you about Ava. She's a second grader who prays every night before bed. Nobody tells her to. She just does. She prays for her little brother when he has scary dreams. And at school, when a friend was having a rough day, she prayed quietly at her desk for him too. No one else noticed, but Jesus does. Jesus sees faith even when it's quiet, even when no one else claps for it, even when you don't get a sticker or a trophy for a great job. Jesus notices the heart that trusts him. You don't have to be loud. You don't have to be perfect. You don't have to get it all right. You just have to reach out to him. How can you put that in practice today? Well, maybe it's praying silently before doing something difficult. Maybe it's helping someone without getting credit. Maybe it's choosing kindness when someone's being mean. Maybe it's trusting God with something you are nervous about. That's faith, and Jesus sees it. He notices the quiet moments. He hears the honest prayers. He sees your heart even when no one else does. So you can pray, and you can be honest with Jesus. Share with him what is going on in your mind and in your heart. He wants to listen.
