Need Help? Just Ask Jesus Anytime

Hey, carpool crew, whether you're heading to the pool or just running errands with mom or dad. I'm Pastor Justin and I'm so glad you're here. Today's episode is about something a lot of us forget to do, asking Jesus for help when school's about to start and things are gonna get busy. We're gonna be nervous. Some things may feel a little too big for us. We sometimes forget that the best person to talk to other than mom and dad, of course, is right there with us. Always. Let's check out today's verse from John 14, verse 13. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it. Now, that sounds like a pretty big promise. Jesus is speaking to his disciples the night before he went to the cross. He was comforting them, preparing them, and reminding them of a huge truth. You can talk to me. You can ask for help and I'm going to keep showing up. Back then, the disciples were probably thinking, how can we talk to Jesus if he's not physically with us anymore? Jesus answered by promising them and us that through prayer, we can always connect with him no matter where we are and no matter what we're going through. If Jesus were sitting beside us right now, I think he'd say something like, rough day, camp didn't go the way you thought, the pool was closed. You can talk to me. I'll never be too busy for you. He's not just the savior of the world. He's your friend, your helper, your go-to. He is someone who listens when you whisper a prayer, even in the middle of the night. Here's some real ways that you can ask Jesus. Help me focus and do my best. Calm me because I'm nervous. When you're feeling left out on the playground or in your neighborhood, Jesus, remind me that I'm never alone with you. When you forget to do your chores or clean up the way mom or dad asked, Jesus, help me take responsibility and have peace anyway. When you want to be a better friend, Jesus, show me how to include others. There's no prayer too small, no situation too ordinary. If it matters to you, it matters to Jesus and he wants you to talk to him. Not just when life is big and scary, but also when it's regular and quiet. You don't have to figure it all out on your own. Ask him for help. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you.
