Noah and the Animals: Being Faithful With What God Gives

Hey, carpool crew. Maybe you're rolling through traffic, munching toast at the table, or hanging out with your favorite stuffed animals. I'm Pastor Justin, and this is Carpooling with Jesus. Today we're jumping into the wildest part of Noah's story, and when I say wild, I mean feathers, fur, hooves and paws. It's the moment when the animals came onto the ark. Let's check out today's verse. It's from Genesis chapter seven, verse nine, and it says this. Two of each male and female came to Noah and entered the ark just as God had commanded Noah. Now picture this, the ark is finished, a massive wooden ship the size of a football field and four stories tall. It's sitting there in the middle of dry land and then the animal parade begins. But here's what's crazy. Noah didn't go out chasing giraffes through the trees or rounding up rhinos with a rope. The Bible says the animals came to Noah. God brought them two by two. That means Noah had to be ready. Food ready, spaces built, straw fluffed up for beds. The doors opened. God handled the timing, but Noah had to be prepared and Noah didn't freak out. He didn't say, wait, God, I need more time. He just obeyed. Quickly, faithfully. If Jesus were sitting right next to us today, I'd think he'd say something like, be faithful with what I give you. I'll handle the rest. Jesus actually said something just like this in Luke chapter 16, verse 10. Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much. Noah was faithful with his job and God showed up in an incredible way. Now, let me tell you a story from when I was a kid. One summer I finally got my first goldfish. I was so pumped. I named him Captain Bubbles. Hold the laughter. But then I realized something, having a fish wasn't just about showing him off to my friends. It meant feeding him every day, cleaning the tank, watching to see if he looked sick, just making sure he survived. At first, I just wanted the fun part, but slowly, God used Captain Bubbles and my mom to teach me about responsibility. It was like a mini ark job. Noah had animals to feed. I had one tiny goldfish, but it still mattered. Here's the thing I want you to remember today, when we do our part, God shows up and does his part. So this week I want you to start your own ark job. Ask yourself, what has God given me to take care of today? Maybe it's your pet. Maybe it's your bedroom. Maybe it's helping your little brother or sister on a family trip. Even if he or she keeps stealing your snacks. Whatever it is, do it like Noah. Be ready, be faithful, and do it with a great attitude. Noah didn't chase the animals. He didn't stress. He just got ready and trusted God to do the rest. So, whether you're feeding your dog, helping set up a tent at camp, or just cleaning up your room from all the snack wrappers you've been hiding, remember you're doing God's work when you're faithful.
