Did Jesus Have a Best Friend Like I Do?

Hey, hey, Carpool Crew. Welcome back to Questions from the Backseat. Today's question is one that I love. Did Jesus have a best friend like I do? The answer is yes. Jesus had really close friends. And here's the cool part. He calls you his friend too. When Jesus was on earth, he had 12 disciples who followed him everywhere. But within that group, three were really close to him: Peter, James, and John. And out of those three, John was the closest. The Bible literally calls him 'the disciple Jesus loved.' They walked together, ate together, laughed together, and went through really hard stuff together too. So Jesus knew what it felt like to have a best friend. He knew what it felt like when friends had his back. And he also knew what it felt like when friends let him down. Peter denied him three times, and Jesus still forgave him. Now listen to this. In John 15:15, Jesus said, 'I have called you friends because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father.' That word, 'friends,' that's about you. Jesus is not just your leader. He's not just your Lord. He's not just your teacher or your judge. He is your friend. That changes things, because friends talk, friends hang out, friends know each other. So if you've ever felt left out at lunch or like nobody really gets you, hear this. Jesus is the kind of friend who never moves to a different table.
