What Is Heaven Actually Like?

Hey Carpool Crew, welcome back to Questions from the Backseat. Today's question is one a lot of kids think about, especially when sad times happen. What's heaven going to be like? Here's the answer. Heaven is not clouds and harps, it's being with God, and that's what makes it home. Revelation 21:3 says, "Look! God's dwelling is with humanity, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and will be their God." That word with, that's the whole point. Heaven is being with God face to face forever. A lot of cartoons make heaven look kind of weird actually. People floating on clouds, wearing white robes, playing harps, looking bored. That is not what the Bible says. The Bible says heaven is alive. There's a city, there's a river, there's trees, there's worship. There are people from every tribe and language and nation, and there's no more crying, no more pain, no more death, no more goodbyes. The best parts of life on Earth are little hints of heaven. Big family meals, belly laughs, music that gives you chills, sunsets that almost look fake, hugs from people you love. All of that gets turned up all the way forever in the presence of God. And the only reason any of us can go is because of Jesus. He paid the way so His people could be home with Him. Here's the one thing I want you to remember: Heaven is not boring. It's home with God, and the best of everything you love and none of the worst. Today, take a moment and think about one thing you really love, and thank God for it.
