Hey, Carpool Crew. Welcome back to Carpooling with Jesus. I'm Pastor Justin, and maybe you're finishing up breakfast or wrapping up some homeschool. I'm so glad you're here today. You know when the light goes off and a picture you saw comes right back into your head, the same one every single time, and you can't make it go away? Let's jump in with the one thing I want you to remember for the ride. Fill your mind with true things. Listen to this from Philippians chapter four, verse eight. "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, dwell on these things." So here's what's going on. Paul wrote this letter from prison. Yeah, prison. And he's telling the church what to do with their minds. He gives a list. What's true? What's honorable? What's pure? What's lovely? And he says, "Dwell on these things." Dwell means to live there. Keep your mind there. Always think about it. See, notice he doesn't say, "Never think a bad thought." He knows that's not how heads work. He says, "Here's what to put in front of it." He says, "Here's what to dwell on instead." Give your mind something true to hold onto. Now, here's the honest part. A picture you saw that scared you doesn't leave just because you want it to. And trying not to think about it, that doesn't work. You think about it even more. Your head won't hold an empty room. It means it's tough to think about nothing. I mean, just try it right now. It's really hard. So you have to put something else in that room, something else in your mind. And if you saw something you can't stop seeing, the first thing to do isn't in this verse, it's to tell a parent. That's the move that takes the heaviest part off you, because the heaviest part is being the only one who knows about it. Maybe it's something from a screen or something scary that happened at school. Maybe it's an accident you saw or a bad dream that keeps coming back. This week, here's something you can try. Tonight, tell a parent, and just say, "I saw something that I can't get out of my head." And you don't have to describe it, but when it comes back, put something true in front of it out loud. Maybe it's saying a Bible verse you learned, or it's singing a song quickly that you know by heart. Or you can say something as simple as, "God is with me right now." Give your mind something true to hold onto. Now, hey, let's go back to the one thing I want you to remember for the ride. Fill your mind with true things. What should I do if a friend showed me something that I can't unsee? Now, it is gonna be a great one, and it's for subscribers. I'd love for you to check it out. Now, before you go, let's answer this question together. When you can't get something out of your mind, what is the true thing that you are gonna put in front of it tonight? I'll see you tomorrow on Carpooling With Jesus.
