David and Goliath: God Is Bigger Than Any Giant

Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re talking about one of my favorite Bible stories—the story of David and Goliath!

For Parents

This episode tells the story of David and Goliath, one Justin loved as a kid. He walks your children through the battle, the giant, and the young shepherd who trusted that God was bigger than anything he faced. The lesson lands on everyday giants: a hard test, a tryout, a tough situation with a friend. The tone is encouraging and steady. A short Friday prayer closes the week. Your child leaves trusting that God gives the strength to face whatever comes.

The One Thing for the Ride

When we trust God, we don't have to be afraid of the giants in our lives, because God is bigger than any giant.

Questions Kids Ask

Why wasn't David afraid of the giant Goliath?

While the whole army was too scared to face Goliath, David was not afraid because he had trusted God before when protecting his sheep, and he knew God was bigger than any giant (1 Samuel 17:45). Instead of focusing on how big Goliath looked, David focused on how strong God is. When we trust God, we don't have to be afraid of the giants in our lives.
