Hey, Carpool Crew. Happy Wednesday. I'm Pastor Justin. Let me ask you this. Have you ever had a day with nobody telling you what to do? No schedule, no chore chart. The whole day is up to you, and you kinda just drifted through it, and by the end, you felt a little blah about the day and maybe even about yourself. Summer does something really funny. When no one's handing you a list, it's easy to forget who you actually are and just float through the day. So today, let's talk about who you are when nobody's telling you what to do. Let's jump in with the one thing I want you to remember for the ride. You are God's handiwork even when no one is telling you what to do. Listen to this from Ephesians chapter two, verse ten. Paul wrote this, by the way, and it was to a very young church in a place called Ephesus. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do." That word "workmanship" means something a maker made on purpose, like a painting or a song. You are not random. You are a made-on-purpose person, and God built good stuff right into you before you were ever born. Think about that. Your worth doesn't switch on when a teacher hands you an assignment or a coach tells you which drill to run. It was there the whole time, baked in by God. Who you are doesn't disappear just because nobody's telling you what to do today. You are amazing. So the empty day isn't a test of whether you matter. You already matter. It's more like a blank page where the real you gets to show up and be creative. Use all the gifts God gave you to have some fun. If Jesus were sitting with you, I think he'd say, "You don't have to earn your way into being somebody. I already made you somebody. You don't need a list or a to-do chart to know who you are. Go be the kid I made, even with nobody watching and no one telling you what to do." It's one of those summer days. You know what I'm talking about. Nothing's on the calendar. No camp, no plans, just hours of time. And you catch yourself wondering what you're even supposed to do with yourself. But then you remember that you don't need someone to assign things to you, so you go build a fort you've been thinking about. You get some art supplies, and you make something. You check on your little siblings and play a game with them. You do awesome things because God made you awesome. Hey, this week, if you find yourself in a spot like that, try this. On an empty day, don't wait to be told what to do. Do something good you'd do if no one noticed. Second, when you feel blah about yourself, just say, "God, thank you that you made me on purpose." And third, ask yourself, do I only feel like somebody when other people are telling me what to do? Or do I believe I am already God's handiwork? Now, let's go back to that one thing I wanted you to remember for the ride. You are God's handiwork even when no one is telling you what to do.
