Why Wisdom Is Better Than Stuff

Whether you’re dreaming about that new pair of shoes or finishing up a breakfast sandwich before class, I’m Pastor Justin—and I’m so glad you’re here.

For Parents

Kids are surrounded by messages about the next phone, game, or must-have outfit. This episode unpacks Proverbs 8:11, where wisdom itself speaks up and says it's worth more than jewels. At home, ask your child to weigh two imaginary kids, one with all the gear but reckless, one with little but wise, and talk about who they'd rather become. Pastor Justin reminds kids it's not wrong to want things, but it's foolish to chase stuff more than wisdom, and that wisdom actually helps you enjoy what you already have.

The One Thing for the Ride

No matter how much cool stuff we want, wisdom is worth more because it helps us make right choices and enjoy life more.

Questions Kids Ask

Why is wisdom more valuable than money or the latest stuff?

In Proverbs 8, wisdom itself speaks up and says it is worth more than jewels or anything else you could chase (Proverbs 8:11). It is not wrong to want a new phone or cool shoes, but wisdom is what helps you make right choices with whatever you have, and that lets you actually enjoy life more. You do not have to own the nicest stuff to become one of the kindest, wisest people.
