Hey friends. Imagine this: Jesus is riding along with you on your way to school. What kinds of stories would he share with you? What words of encouragement would he give you to start your day? Well, today that's what we're doing on carpooling with Jesus. I'm Pastor Justin, and we're going to explore some of the incredible things Jesus might say about the rewards that come from being humble. So buckle up and let's get ready for another faith-filled car ride as we dive into the Bible again. Today's verse comes from Proverbs in the Old Testament, chapter 22 verse four. Humility, the fear of the Lord, results in wealth, honor, and life. Now here's the thing. This isn't talking about wealth, like having tons of Robux or Fortnite coins or money, or honor, like being the class president. And life isn't just about living a long time. No. This is about the real deep rewards that come from being humble, showing respect to God and putting others first. So what does humility mean? Well, we've talked about it a couple times, but here's a great reminder. Humility means not thinking you're better than anyone else. Not bragging about what you have or what you can do. It means having a heart that says I'm going to trust God, and I'm going to put others before myself. And when you choose humility, the rewards are amazing. Let's start with wealth. This doesn't mean you'll suddenly get rich with money. It means that when you're humble, God blesses you with so much more than money, like joy, peace, love, kindness, and the best relationships. You will have a wealth of relationships when you are humble toward other people. Second is honor. Honor means people see you as someone who can be trusted and respected. When you choose to be humble, others notice your kindness and start respecting you more because they can trust what you say is the truth. And third is life. It's the kind of life that's filled with purpose, peace, and love from God the Father. If Jesus was sitting next to you, he might remind you: keep being humble and watch how Jesus blesses your life. Not with money or with fame, but with friendships and family that love and trust you. Here's how you can try more humility this week. Let's say you're playing at recess with your friends and someone comes and asks to play with all of you. Instead of saying no, there's no room, you could say, sure, we always have room for someone else. And maybe you see a friend who's having a tough time with something. Instead of bragging about how good things are going for you, you say, hey, do you want some help or do you want to talk about what's going on? These small little choices of humility, sharing a spot on a team, talking to a friend and listening to how they're doing, bring you wealth, honor, and life in a way that's way more valuable than anything else. These actions don't just make others feel good. They make your heart feel full and happy too. Remember, humility doesn't mean thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less and thinking how you can bless others more. So this week, as you go about your day, practice being humble, whether it's sharing with your brother or sister or helping a friend in need, or just showing respect to your teachers. These little actions will bring amazing rewards in your life. Keep humble and you'll see amazing rewards come your way: joy, peace, a full heart, many friends, and great memories with relationships that could last a lifetime. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. Parents, if you like this podcast, share it with your parent friends so they can turn their car rides into faith-filled moments too. Here's today's question. Take some time and talk about it before you get out of the car. What's one thing you can commit to doing today to be more humble at school? Have a great day. See you tomorrow.
