Hey carpooling with Jesus family. Welcome to another episode. I'm Pastor Justin. And today we're going to explore something incredible from the Bible about walking humbly with God. It's one of the ways Jesus encourages us to live every day. So buckle up and let's dive in. Today's verse is from the book of Micah in the Old Testament, chapter six verse eight. He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Wow. This verse is packed with wisdom and is super clear what God wants from us. Now you might ask, who is Micah? Well, Micah was a prophet, which means he delivered messages from God to the people of Israel and Judah. He lived a long time ago, about 700 years before Jesus, which means when Jesus was doing his donkey rides to school, Jesus's parents might have told him about the stories in Micah. Micah's message wasn't just about pointing out what people were doing wrong. He also reminded them how much God loved them and wanted them to live in a way that was full of kindness, justice, and humility. Even though Micah's words were written so long ago, they still show us today what it means to live a life that makes God smile. Imagine going on a walk with your best friend. You talk, you laugh, you share your thoughts. That's what walking humbly with God is like. It means living every day like God is right there beside you. When we're humble, we recognize that everything we have, our abilities, our talents, our blessings, they all come from God the Father. And when we walk humbly with God, we trust his guidance and live in a way that shows respect for him and kindness toward others. If Jesus were right there in the car with you, he might say something like this: I'm here to walk with you every step of the way. When you act justly, love mercy, and stay humble, you're walking closely with me. I'll guide you, cheer you on, and help you do amazing things in your life. So how do we walk humbly with God in our everyday lives? That's a great question. Here are a couple ideas for you. You could help a friend who's struggling with something. Maybe they're having a hard time learning something in class, or they're really feeling left out. You can include them. You can show kindness to your family by doing something thoughtful, like cleaning up without being asked or leaving encouraging post-it notes in their room. You can also say a prayer to thank God for the good things in your life and ask him to guide you through the hard things. When we treat others with fairness, love, and kindness, we're acting justly. We're loving mercy and walking humbly with God, just like the Bible teaches us. But let me tell you a quick story. There was a boy named Tanner who loved playing soccer. One day, his friend didn't make the team and he was feeling really sad. Instead of celebrating only his own success, Tanner invited his friend to practice with him after school. Tanner showed him kindness and humility by thinking about his friend's feelings and helping him get better at soccer. That's walking humbly with God: when we think about others and let God guide our hearts and our actions. So this week, let's look for ways to walk humbly with God, whether it's helping a friend, being extra kind, or spending time talking to God. Remember that he's right there, walking with you every step of the way. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. Parents, if you love this podcast, share with your parent friends so they can turn their car rides into faith-filled moments too. Here's today's question. Talk about it together before you get out of the car. How can you remember that God is always walking with you? Have a great day.
