How to Get Wiser Every Day by Listening Well
Whether you’re wondering if you remembered your homework or still thinking about yesterday’s conversation, I’m Pastor Justin—and I’m so glad you’re here.
For Parents
This episode opens up Proverbs 19:20 and the idea that wisdom is built, not born. Pastor Justin gently names how correction can sting and advice can feel annoying, then shows how listening now shapes the person your child becomes. He points to Jesus growing in wisdom as a boy who stayed teachable. On the drive, ask your kids about advice they received recently and talk through how they handled it, modeling a humble heart that leans in to learn.

Questions Kids Ask
How can kids get wiser by listening to advice and correction?
Wisdom is built, not born, and the Bible says to listen to counsel and receive instruction so that you may be wise later in life (Proverbs 19:20). Even Jesus grew in wisdom as a boy by staying teachable and taking instruction seriously. So when a parent, coach, or teacher corrects you, lean in and listen instead of tuning them out, because instruction now leads to wisdom later.
