Living With Integrity at School When No One Is Watching

Hey, carpool crew. Some of you might be eating breakfast at the table. Some of you might be grabbing your backpack and heading out the door, and some of you might be just hanging at home, relaxing. No matter where you are, I'm really glad you're here. I'm Pastor Justin, and I'm so excited you're listening to Carpooling with Jesus. Let's check out today's verse. It's from Proverbs chapter two, verse seven. He stores up success for the upright. He is a shield for those who live with integrity. So Solomon is still setting the stage here in chapter two, telling us how wisdom works. He's explaining that when you choose to live the right way, not just sometimes, but all the time, God has got your back. The word upright means honest, steady, doing what's right, even when it's hard. And integrity, that means you're the same person, whether the teacher's watching or not, whether your parents see your phone or not, whether your friends are pressuring you or not. You are the same person and you make the same right decisions. See, God rewards people who live with integrity. That doesn't mean life will always be easy, but it does mean he is protecting you. He's guiding you, he's setting you up for real success, the kind that actually matters. And check this out. He doesn't just hand out a little help. The verse says he stores up success, like stacking it up for you ahead of time when you walk the right path. If Jesus was walking into your school with you today or sitting at the kitchen table, he might say, you don't need to fake it to fit in. Just walk with integrity. I've got you covered. See, Jesus didn't play games to impress people. He lived truthfully, even when it was unpopular, and he invites us to do the exact same thing. Let's say your teacher leaves the classroom during a test. Some kids whisper, pass notes, or peek at others' papers. You know what to do, right? You could join in, but you don't. That moment right there, that's integrity. And yeah, maybe no one sees it. But God does, and when you see mom and dad later, you can tell them about it and they will be so proud of you. It's not bragging, it's talking about what you experienced that day and how you got to make a decision of integrity. And don't forget, God sees it and he says, when you live with that kind of integrity, he'll shield you. He'll protect your heart, your future, and your reputation. So what are some ways we can apply this today? Well, first, tell the truth even when you feel like it might cost you. Also, be the same person when no one is looking. That is real integrity. Last, trust that God is storing up success for you. Trust that God can be trusted. His kind of success is waiting for you. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you.
