Hey, Carpool crew, I'm Pastor Justin. Maybe you're headed to school, finishing up breakfast, or wrapping up some homeschool. I'm really glad you're joining us. Now, let me ask you this. You know when picture day is tomorrow, and you've already been through the whole thing in your head about 10 times. Yeah, we've all been there. I've done a ton of school photos. Let's jump in with the one thing I want you to remember for the ride: God made today. Live in today. Listen to this from Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made. Let's rejoice and be glad in it." Here's what's going on. This psalm is a song people sang to thank God, and in the middle of it comes this line: This is the day. Not someday, not the big day coming up, this one, the one you're in right now. Look at what it says about today. God made it. The ordinary day, the one with the math page, the one where you're having leftovers, and nothing really special is happening. God made that one on purpose, and he says, "Be glad in it." You know, here's what fear does with that. It takes today and spends it on tomorrow. You lie in bed the night before picture day and run the whole thing through your head. The stool, the comb, your hair, your makeup, making sure everything fits right and looks right, and you don't wanna have a goofy smile, right? So you're practicing in the mirror ten times, twenty times, and then the picture hasn't even happened yet. Meanwhile, today is happening, and you're not in it. Now tomorrow might really be a big, hard day. I'm not gonna tell you picture day is nothing. But God made today, too, and today is the one He handed you and wants you to enjoy. So maybe it's picture day. Maybe it's a test on Friday. Maybe it's game day this weekend or a doctor's appointment or a dentist that's coming up, or it's the first day at a new church or a new school. Hey, this week, here's one thing that you could try. When you catch yourself running tomorrow in your head, say out loud, "That's tomorrow. God made today." You know, go ride your bike. Play with your brother or sister. Help with dinner. You can do something to enjoy the moment you're in. Now let's go back to the one thing I want you to remember for the ride. God made today. Live in today. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. And parents, if you want more encouragement like this during the week, come follow us on Instagram or TikTok. We post simple reminders and little Bible clips that you can share with your kids or your parent friends to let them know about the podcast. Before you go, let's answer this question together. What is something coming up that you have already lived through a bunch of times in your head? I'll see you tomorrow, Carpool Crew, on Carpooling with Jesus.
