Hey, Carpool Crew. Welcome back to Carpooling with Jesus. I'm Pastor Justin. Happy Friday. I hope you have an incredible weekend ahead. You know when the teacher says, "Any questions?" And you got lost three steps ago, and now everybody's pencil is moving except yours? Let's jump in with the one thing I want you to remember for the ride. You're allowed to ask again. This is something that comes up on the podcast every now and then, and it's something that is so important. Listen to this from Mark 9:32: "But they did not understand the statement, and they were afraid to ask him." Okay, here's what's going on. Jesus is walking through Galilee with his disciples. He's teaching them. He tells them he's gonna be betrayed and killed, and that he'll rise three days later. And the Bible says two things about the disciples. They didn't understand, and they were afraid to ask him. Think about that. These are the 12. They are with Jesus every day. They just watched him do things that nobody has ever seen before, and he says something that they don't understand, and not one of them asks a question. See, they're afraid to, standing right next to the one person who could explain it. Now, I'm not gonna pretend asking is easy. Asking means that everybody finds out that you didn't get it. That's real. But look at what standing quiet got the disciples. They stayed confused. They never figured it out. Now, here's what I want you to know about Jesus. He kept teaching them. He didn't give up on them for not understanding. He was patient. He was patient with slow learners then, and he is now. Now, you are allowed to not get it. You're allowed to ask again. That's what teachers love, by the way. They love teaching. All good teachers do. Now, maybe it's math, maybe it's the rules of a new game, maybe it's something at church that you didn't understand, or directions from your coach on a play that you're doing for the first time. You can ask. It's okay. Now, this week, if you're in a situation where you just don't know, which by the way, Pastor Justin for sure will be in a situation where he doesn't know sometime in the next couple days or the next couple hours. Try this. Just say, "Can you do that step one more time?" Or, "Could you show me again?" That's a normal question. Grown-ups ask it all the time. And if it's a question about God, ask that one, too. Ask your parent or ask one of the leaders at your church. Or you can pray and ask God yourself, "I don't get this. Help me understand." Hey, let's go back to the one thing I want you to remember for the ride. You're allowed to ask again. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. And parents, real quick, because this weekend is a little different. Tomorrow, Saturday, is the last episode of the whole month, and we are putting it out for free for everybody. There's no lock on it, so go listen. Your kid has spent 30 days hearing about things that people are scared of. And tomorrow on Halloween, we're talking about a big one. I hope that you listen and share it with some friends. It is gonna be a great Halloween episode. And Sunday, we're kicking off something new on November 1st. It's on prayer. See, you don't need fancy words to pray. You just have to be willing to start. I think your kids are gonna love it. For less than a candy run at a gas station, your kids could be a subscriber, and they wouldn't miss a thing. I hope you consider it. Now before you go, let's answer this question together. What's something you've been pretending to understand but you don't? I'll see you tomorrow for a special Halloween episode for everybody on Carpooling with Jesus.
