Sharing the Last Snack: The Small Move That Pleases God in a Big Way

Hey, Carpool Crew. Happy Friday. I hope you have an incredible weekend ahead. I am Pastor Justin and I am so glad you are riding along today. We made it to Friday, and we have got a fun and really practical one to wrap up the week. Here is the One Thing for the ride: sharing the last snack is a small thing that pleases God in a big way. Today's verse comes from the book of Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 16. It says this: "Don't neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices." Now stop for a second on that word, sacrifice. A sacrifice is when you give something up that costs you a little. It is not free. It actually pinches. So the writer of Hebrews is saying, hey, when you share, when you give up the thing you wanted for yourself, God notices. He is not just kind of pleased. He is really pleased. That small move costs you a little, and God treats it like a big deal. Here is the thing. The last snack is the test. Anybody can share when there are five granola bars in the box. Anybody can share when the bag is full. But when there is one fruit snack pouch left and your little brother wants it too? That is the moment that matters. See, if Jesus were sitting right next to you in the car right now, He would say, "Share the last one. That is when you sound like Me." Let me make this real. Picture this. You and your sister are in the back seat after a long Friday at school. You are starving. Mom hands back the last bag of goldfish from her purse. You shake it. There is, what, six fish left? Maybe seven. Your sister is looking at you. You are looking at her. You can feel the moment. Now let's be honest. The easy thing is to dump the whole bag into your mouth and crunch loud so she gets the message. Done. Gone. Your snack. But the Jesus move? The Hebrews thirteen sixteen move? Open the bag. Count out a fair share. Hand half across the seat. No big speech. No drama. Just open palm. Here are three sharing moves you can try this weekend. First, the last bite move. When there is one piece left, offer it before you take it. Even if you really, really want it. Watch what happens to your heart when you do. Second, the best seat move. Got two spots on the couch for movie night, and one of them is the good corner spot? Let your sibling take it. Or the front seat of the car. Or the bigger slice of pizza. Sharing the best, not just the leftovers. Third, the no announcement move. Share without telling anyone you shared. No "did you see what I just did?" No tagging mom. Just quiet generosity.
