Thankful for How God Made Me

That might sound a little funny, but think about it — God made you!

For Parents

Kids are quick to wish they were someone else, taller, funnier, better at the thing the other kid is great at. This episode uses Ephesians 2:10 and the picture of a handcrafted art project to remind your child they are God's workmanship, made on purpose with gifts to use. Tonight, ask your child to name one thing they're thankful for about how God made them and thank him for it together. Helping a kid see the good in themselves is helping them see the goodness of the God who made them.

The One Thing for the Ride

Questions Kids Ask

How do I teach my child to be thankful for how God made them?

You can help your child see that God made them on purpose, giving them their own laugh, voice, mind, and gifts. The Bible calls each of us God's workmanship, which means handcrafted artwork made with love (Ephesians 2:10). When kids thank God for how he made them and use their gifts to bless others, they are really seeing the goodness of the God who made them.
