This Is the Day

Hey, Carpool Crew! Happy Thursday. I'm Pastor Justin, and before we jump in, let me give a big shout-out to Lealia, Benedict and Amadeus, listening all the way from Bavaria, Germany. So glad you are with us this morning. And this episode is about those mornings when the alarm goes off and you pull the blanket right back over your head because you are already dreading the day. You know that feeling, eyes barely open and your brain is already groaning about everything ahead? Yeah. We've all been there. Let's jump in with the one thing I want you to remember for the ride: today is a day God made on purpose, so you can walk in glad instead of dreading it. Listen to this from Psalm 118:24. It says, "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." This day, the regular Thursday kind with math and a packed lunch, God made on purpose. It is not an accident or a leftover. It is His. The person who wrote this had been through some genuinely hard days, so this is not somebody pretending everything is easy. It is somebody who learned to find the good even on a heavy day. Being glad does not mean nothing is hard today. It means you go looking for the good God tucked into it, because you know He put some there. If Jesus were sitting next to you right now, He would lean over and say, "I made this day for you on purpose. There is good in it I cannot wait for you to find. Go look." It is morning. The blanket is over your head and your brain is already listing the boring parts. So before your feet hit the floor, you find one thing to look forward to, recess, a friend's joke, the good snack, and you say thank you for it. One good thing changes the whole way you walk in. Hey, this week, try one of these three things. First, before you get up, name one thing you are actually looking forward to today. Second, say a quick thank-you to God for it. Third, and this one surprises you: do one thing that makes somebody else's day gladder, because joy grows when you hand it out. Hey, let's go back to that one thing I wanted you to remember for the ride. Today is a day God made on purpose, so you can walk in glad instead of dreading it. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. And parents, you probably know another family who could use a gladder morning. Go ahead and share this episode with them.
