What Happens Next? Jesus Sends Us with a Mission (Acts 1)
In today’s Carpooling with Jesus, the disciples ask Jesus a huge post-resurrection question: “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel now?” (Acts 1:6 CSB) They expected Jesus to take over like a powerful king.
For Parents
After the resurrection, the disciples wanted to know if Jesus was about to take over as an earthly king. Justin uses their question in Acts 1 to show kids the better plan Jesus had in mind: sending ordinary people to share His love. The story of Maddie making a card for a grieving neighbor shows what that mission looks like for a child. It's a great springboard to talk about how your family can be part of God's plan today.
The One Thing for the Ride

Questions Kids Ask
What did Jesus tell his followers to do after he rose from the dead?
The disciples wondered if Jesus would take over as king right away, but he told them they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came and would be his witnesses (Acts 1:8). Instead of ruling on a throne, Jesus sent them, and you, to share his love and forgiveness right where they are.
