Hey friends, welcome back to Carpooling with Jesus. I'm Pastor Justin, and I'm so happy you're joining us. This week, we've been answering big questions that I had as a kid. And today we're answering the big question: where is Jesus now? Let's dive in and discover what the Bible has to say. Our verse today comes from Acts chapter one, verse nine, and it says, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. This verse is talking about the moment when Jesus went back to heaven after He rose from the dead. So what does that mean? Well, let's find out together. After Jesus died and rose again, He spent time with His disciples, teaching them and showing them He was alive. Then one day, something amazing happened. As His friends watched, Jesus started to rise up into the sky, and a cloud covered Him, hiding Him from their view. Jesus was going back to heaven to be with God the Father. But that's not all. Jesus didn't just disappear and leave us forever. He went back to heaven because that's where He belongs. The Bible says that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, which means He's in a place of honor and power. From there, Jesus rules as King over everything. And one day, He'll return to make all things new. Now, you might be wondering, what is Jesus doing in heaven? Well, here's something really cool. Romans chapter 8, verse 34 tells us that Jesus is praying for us. Yeah, that's right. Right now, Jesus is talking to God the Father on our behalf. He's showing His love for us by praying for us to have strength, peace, and courage. And even though we can't see Him with our eyes, He's still with us, working for us and praying for us all the time. Isn't that awesome? Here's a quick story about a boy named Will. Will had a best friend named Jack and the two of them were in a band together. One day they had their first big show in their neighborhood for all their friends and family. Will got really nervous. What if I mess up? What if I let the band down, he thought. Well, Jack, seeing that Will was upset, put his hand on his shoulder and just said, you got this. Will felt comforted by this small little message from Jack. And during their concert, they did incredible. Hit every note, and their friends and family in the neighborhood were cheering for them. Jack's little word of comfort gave Will the confidence he needed to play his best. And they rocked. Jack wasn't the one playing Will's instrument through the concert. He wasn't the one singing for Will. But even though he wasn't physically doing those things, he was still present there with Will. And you know what, Jesus does something like that for us. Even though He's not physically with us doing what we're doing, He's still thinking about us, praying for us, and cheering us on. So where's Jesus now? He's in heaven, seated next to God the Father, and He's praying for you and for me. Remember, no matter where you are, no matter how you're joining, God loves you. Let's wrap up with our short Friday prayer. God, thank you for this week. Help us finish strong today and bless our weekend with joy and rest. Amen. Parents, if you've been enjoying Carpooling with Jesus, we'd love for you to share this with other families so more kids can learn and grow in their faith.
