Why Did Jesus Pray?
Whether you’re in the car, having breakfast, or just hanging out at home, I’m so glad you’re here with us for a new episode of Carpooling with Jesus!
For Parents
Kids often think prayer is for grown-ups with fancy words. This episode shows the opposite, using Jesus' prayer in the garden from Luke 22:42 to teach that even Jesus prayed to stay close to God when life got hard. A story about a nervous boy before his first swim race makes prayer feel natural and within reach. The reminder is simple: you can just talk to God like a best friend. At home, pray together about something on your child's mind.
The One Thing for the Ride

Questions Kids Ask
Why did Jesus pray if he was God?
Right before he was arrested, Jesus prayed, Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my will but yours be done (Luke 22:42). Even though Jesus was God, he prayed to stay close to his Father, especially when things were hard, and he invites us to talk to God the same way.
