For Parents
Yes, and the answer is right there in the Bible where nobody took it out. This one puts your kid in the garden at night with Jesus face down asking if there was any other way, out loud, with His friends asleep about as far as you can throw a rock. He asked, He got His answer, and He stood up and went anyway, still feeling all of it. Ask your kid what they have been waiting to stop being scared about.
The One Thing for the Ride
“Brave is doing it scared.”
Scripture
Matthew 26:39
CSB
Key Takeaways
- Read the first part again. If it is possible. Jesus asked if there was any other way, out loud, face down on the ground.
- He did not pretend He was fine, He did not say it was not scary, and He did not sit there waiting for the feeling to leave before He got up.
- He stood up and walked toward the hardest thing anybody has ever walked toward, still feeling all of it.
- If you have been waiting to stop being scared before you do the hard thing, stop waiting. That is not how it worked for Jesus.
