Where Did God Come From?

Hey, Carpool Crew. Welcome back to Questions from the Backseat. Today's question is, "If God made everything, who made God?" That's a really great question, and here's the answer: God didn't get made. He's always been, and He always will be. He's the only one like that. Listen to Psalm 90:2, "Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth, and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God." That phrase, "from eternity to eternity," that means God has no start button and no end. There was never a moment when God wasn't here. Now, our brains are not built to fully picture that. Everything we know has a beginning and an end. You had a birthday. Your house was built. Your shoes were made in a factory. So when you hear about something that was always, that always existed, our minds kinda bend a little bit. Here's a way to think about it. Imagine drawing a line on a piece of paper. The line has a start and an end. That's us. That's everything we know. But God is not on the line. God is the one who drew it. He's not part of the timeline. He created time itself. So you don't have to feel weird if your brain can't picture it. None of us can. That's actually a sign that God is bigger than us, and that's a good thing. Who wants a God that can fit in your head?
