Standing Strong in Faith: Daniel and His Friends

Whether you’re heading to school, finishing up breakfast, or just hanging out at home, I’m so glad you’re here.

For Parents

It's hard for kids to stand apart when everyone else is doing something they know isn't right. This episode uses Daniel and his friends refusing the king's food to show that small, faithful choices matter to God. It tells the story of Josh, who spoke up when teammates mocked another player. At home, ask your child about a tough choice they have faced and talk through one way they can stand strong this week.

The One Thing for the Ride

Standing up for what's right isn't always easy, but when we trust God he gives us the strength we need in small choices and big ones.

Questions Kids Ask

Why did Daniel refuse to eat the king's food in Babylon?

Taken from his home to Babylon as a young man, Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine because it went against what God had told his people (Daniel 1:8). He and his friends asked for vegetables and water instead, and after ten days they looked healthier and stronger than everyone else. Standing up for what's right isn't always easy, but when we trust God he gives us strength in small choices and big ones.
