Hey there, Carpooling with Jesus family. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Jesus was riding along with you in the car on the way to school? What kind of things would he say to help you start your day? Well, buckle up, because today we're going to talk about something really important: sharing and helping our friends. When we share and help others, we're showing love just like Jesus did. I'm Pastor Justin. Let's dive into the Bible and discover how we can make a difference in the lives of others. The fifth book of the New Testament is titled Acts. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts. These are the acts, or the actions, of the apostles. These are the things that happened after Jesus went back to heaven after rising from the dead. Our verse is from Acts chapter twenty, verse thirty-five. In every way, I've shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. This verse is spoken by the apostle Paul, who had traveled around teaching about Jesus. Paul knew that following Jesus wasn't just about believing in him, but also about living like him. In the book of Acts, we see how the early church, the first followers of Jesus, lived out his teachings every day, helping those in need and sharing with others. Paul reminded the people he preached to that Jesus taught them it's better to give than to receive. He wanted them to understand that helping others isn't just a kind thing to do. It's something Jesus calls us to do, something Jesus wants us to do and expects us to do. In the book of Acts, we get to see the early church in action. After Jesus rose from the dead and went to heaven, his followers started spreading his message all over the world. They didn't just talk about love. They showed it through their actions. One of the main things we see is that the early Christians cared for each other in very practical ways. In Acts chapter two, verses forty-four through forty-five, it says all the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold their property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. This wasn't just about giving money. It was about sharing everything they had to make sure no one was left out or in need. They knew that the more they gave, the more they were living like Jesus, and they were blessed because of it. Paul, who wrote today's verse in the book of Acts, lived out this principle as well. He traveled around teaching about Jesus, and he would often remind the people that it wasn't just about hearing God's word, but living it out, especially when it came to helping others. This idea of giving is not just a suggestion. It's something that helps us make the world a better place and brings us closer to Jesus. Jesus didn't just talk about giving. He lived it out every day. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and showed love to everyone, especially those in need. When we share, we're following his example. The act of helping others, whether it's giving our time, lending a hand, or sharing something special, makes a real difference in the world around us. When we help others, we're building a stronger relationship with them in our neighborhoods or at school. Imagine the joy you can bring someone's day just by helping or sharing. Jesus shows us that when we give, we're also receiving a blessing that fills our heart with joy. Remember, no matter where you are or how you're listening, God loves you. Parents, if you love this podcast, make sure you share it with some parent friends so they can have faith-filled moments too. Here's a question you can answer before you get out of the car. How does it make you feel when someone helps you or shares with you? Have a great day today.
